Chin Correction
A chin correction restores the balance of your profile by adjusting the shape and projection of the chin. This allows a receding chin to gain more definition or a too prominent chin to be subtly adjusted, with a natural result that complements the rest of your face. Depending on your goals, this can be achieved non-surgically with fillers or surgically with your own fat (lipofilling), a chin implant, or—in cases of a chin that is too large or too small—a bone procedure (chinplasty). The incision for an implant or chinplasty is typically made inside the mouth, so there is no visible scar.
How does the procedure work?
The approach is completely customized. For subtle contour improvement, a filler can be used, which provides temporary additional projection or definition of the chin and jawline. Those who want a more permanent volume increase with a very natural look can choose lipofilling, where your own fat is harvested via liposuction, purified, and injected in small amounts at the chin level. For larger or permanent corrections, a chin implant can be placed through a small incision in the mouth, or a chinplasty can be performed where the bone is repositioned or refined. Sometimes fat under the chin is removed simultaneously (liposculpture of neck/double chin) to make the transition to the neck and jawline even tighter. The procedure is usually performed under general anesthesia and often as a day treatment. The operation duration depends on the chosen technique.
