How does the procedure work?
The correction is typically performed under local or general anesthesia, usually as a day procedure (you return home the same day). The surgeon marks the area, administers anesthesia to the surgical site, removes excess tissue, and restores symmetry. Precise techniques are used to preserve nerve structures and maintain sensation. Sutures are typically dissolvable, and incisions are positioned to ensure scars remain as discreet as possible (not on the labial edge). Depending on the technique, the procedure takes approximately 1 hour.
